Sought-after pick-up available sans guitar
Since the beginning of Ronin Guitars, if you wanted to get a set of the company’s unique foil bucker pick-ups, you had to buy a guitar. When we visited the company in 2016, luthier John Reed told us the same tale. While demand for the pick-ups was strong, the company wasn’t set up to manufacture and sell its custom pick-ups separately. That changed today, with Ronin’s formal launch of foilbucker.com.
The new website is offering a pre-order of a set of foil buckers, which includes a matched set with four conductor wire, routing template, mounting screws and foam, and certificate of authenticity. The foil bucker pair will set you back $650. The company also is offering a luthier’s kit that comes with foil buckers and a luthier grade old growth blank ready for body shaping. Check out the new site for additional information, including how to sign up for newsletter alerts for news, special promotions and first access to new products.
